Since reaching my ideal weight, I eat a bit more whole grains and starchy vegetables than before. I agree with Dr. Fuhrman. I feel much better, when my diet is centered on greens, beans, and fruits. But I get way too hungry without my extra weight to limit starches to only 1/2 . per day. Like DF, I no longer limit my servings to 1/2 cup but also don't base my diet on whole grains or starchy vegetables like winter squash, potatoes, or sweet potatoes. I continue to live by my mantra, 'the secret is in the greens.'
